Meet Matilda

Our heart kids show great determination and passion when it comes to beating the odds, but this isn’t limited to their heart conditions.

Matilda is a young girl with a passion for ballet. She dreams of dancing on stage with Queensland’s premier youth ballet company, Ballet Theatre Queensland, and hopes to be invited back to audition for the Queensland Ballet in 2022.

Matilda has studied ballet since the age of 2, she is currently working towards her Intermediate Foundation exam and enjoyed performing in her first ever ballet production of Peter and the Wolf in 2021. In 2021 Matilda was given the opportunity to audition for Ballet Theatre Queensland and for the 2021 season of The Nutcracker with Queensland Ballet.

The HeartKids-Drakes Supermarkets Scholarships are to support children like Matilda to pursue their passions and reach their full potential.

If you live in South Australia or Queensland, and your heart kid dreams of achieving great things in their chosen field, then consider lodging an application for the 2022 HeartKids-Drakes Supermarkets Scholarships.

If you have any questions, please email HeartKids SA/NT State Manager, Tania Potts, at tania.potts@heartkids.org.au or call the SA Office on 08 8269 3122.
