For the first time in history, there are now more adults than children living with childhood-onset heart disease in Australia.
It is estimated that 80,000 Australians are living with a childhood-onset heart condition, of which over 32,000 are adults. There are also adults who are living with a condition acquired during childhood.
While many people may experience heart health issues in their lifetime, living with a condition since childhood presents unique needs and challenges. We understand that this is a lifetime journey and at HeartKids, our support is for life.
